Ms. Zhang Li (2015)

Zhang Li, the director of Gansu HOPE STAR Social Work Service Center. Since the establishment of HOPE STAR, she devoted all her energy into aiding kids with special needs. To provide more professional and more effective service, she participated in many trainings and workshops, and obtained the certificate of National psychological consultantⅡ. To reward her excellent work, she was nominated the Award for Individuals in adolescent's ideological construction, she has been engaged as postgraduate tutor by Northwest University for Nationalities, and has been appointed as social work counsellor in Gansu Institute of Political Science and Law. She won the Award of Outstanding Individual given by the “One Foundation” Ocean Paradise Project Northwest; she was shortlisted for the TOP10 trainees in China Training Plan for charity work. Besides, she is active in organizing an alliance for disability service, leading and promoting the development of disability services in her hometown Gansu province.

Main Activities: Provide psychological support and social services for children in need

HOPE STAR, with a full name Lanzhou HOPE STAR Social Work Service Center, was established in July, 2006. They serve children with autism, mental retardation, growth retardation and learning obstacles. And also provide screening, assessment and early intervention of autism for healthy children, provide professional guidance and psychological assistance for parents. They also have projects to promote the psychological development for normal children.
